Doubts
FAQ’s
Can I tear down my existing house and rebuild on the same lot?
Yes! This is incredibly common in Long Island where empty lots are rare. We manage the entire teardown process, safe debris removal, and the construction of your brand-new home on your existing property.
How long does it take to build a custom home from scratch?
Timelines vary based on the size and complexity of the home, as well as the permitting process. Generally, once permits are approved and the foundation is poured, the active construction phase takes between 8 to 12 months.
Do I need to hire an architect first?
You don’t have to! TCR Builders offers comprehensive design-build services. We can draft the architectural blueprints in-house to ensure the design aligns perfectly with your actual construction budget.
What if I already have architectural plans?
We are more than happy to work with your existing architect’s plans. We will review the blueprints, provide a detailed construction estimate, and execute the build with flawless precision.
Will you handle the permits for a new construction?
Absolutely. Building a new home requires navigating complex zoning laws, surveys, and town board approvals in Nassau and Suffolk counties. We manage this entire bureaucratic process for you.
Is it more expensive to build new or do a massive whole-house renovation?
Often, if an older house requires stripping down to the studs, a new roof, new siding, and all new plumbing and electrical systems, tearing it down and building new is actually more cost-effective. It also guarantees you won’t uncover hidden, expensive damage mid-project.
